I told my retinal specialist I could feel pressure within my eyeball at
times. This usually happened when I had sinus swelling. He felt that was
the cause and when he checked my pressure it was always down. I kept
insisting I would feel pressure inside my eyes. He told me no one can feel
if their eye pressure is high. Everytime I had an appt. my eyes were
feeling ok. Finally he said he did not doubt me and told me the next time I
felt the pressure to get to an opthamologist and have the pressure checked.
I lived three hours from his office. So I did and sure enough me pressure
was up. This went on for a couple years going up and then back down, till
finally it stayed up and I started eye drops. Maybe your feeling is
something similar.

<< I haven't, but maybe you can ask your doctor for a blood-thinner, and
maybe take aspirin on those days until you get it diagnosed. Aspirin
would thin the blood, as well as relieve some pressure.
Doctors will shrug your problems off if you let them-- Just keep at
it.

Best wishes,
Courtney >>
Hey Gang: I have had them, prior to pumping when my bgs were really
chugging up there. A floater once in a while is no big deal, BUT an increase
and proliferation IS something that MUST be addressed. Aspirin is out as is
any other blood thinner until the source of possible hemorrhaging is
determined and addressed. If on anticoagulants, those are not stopped
without close medical supervision....it can cause worse problems....Joan:)

<< The past year I notice that before and during menstration, my eyesight
becomes more burry and I get "floaters"..also fell pressure. Even with
normal BGS this happens. I asked the Dr. at my last eye exam a few months
ago and he just shrugged it off like it was "normal". I have had laser on
both eyes three times during pregnancy and am really concerned about this
damaging my sight further. Has anyone had anything similar?

Arianna >>
Hi Arianna: it's not something to shrug off....blurring vision even with
normal bgs needs to be addressed, especially since you've have laser therapy
in the past. I would do somewhat more frequent bgs. It's known to most of
us that our bgs can fluctuate considerably during menstrual cycle.....mine
goes up a bit and I have to compensate.
We can get floaters - debris in the vitreous humor (the liquid in the eyeball
itself). An increase could indicate microhemorrhages and should also be
<!--more-->
addressed. If you are on any blood thinners, that could also be a cause, so
it all needs to be checked. You don't want an MD that shrugs it off and
acts like it's inevitable.....get mad!!! Joan:))

Arianna,
I thought this was interesting. I just got a new floater too and I just had
that really weird period. I wonder if it is related. I had laser surgery
about five years ago in one eye and about 3 years ago in the other. I know
most of the eye problems I have are related to blood pressure but I guess
there can be other reasons too. Something to think about. Hmmm... need to
check and see what the doc says. --Jeana Ü

I haven't, but maybe you can ask your doctor for a blood-thinner, and
maybe take aspirin on those days until you get it diagnosed. Aspirin
would thin the blood, as well as relieve some pressure.
Doctors will shrug your problems off if you let them-- Just keep at
it.

I know floaters are nothing to worry about and their is nothing you can do
about it but if you are really concerned about the other problems you are
having I would just seek another opinion to put your mind at ease.
