new non-pumper w. Type1
Hi - I’ve been looking for a newsgroup for Type 1 diabetics, but
there aren’t any that are very active. So I thought I’d join just
for the other discussions on complications, new technologies, and
other things we have in common.
I’ve had Type1 diabetes for about 25 years now, since I was 8 and 1/2
years old - not long before Halloween! But I was a strange kid
anyway, not liking most candy.
Since then I’ve battled compulsive eating, and trying to stay on a
meal plan of sorts (Still haven’t tho.) –
I use Ultralente and Humalog - one unit for each 15 - 20 grams of
carbohydrate.

Welcome to all the New Members,
I am sure you will add a lot to our list.
Sorry I am late with some of the welcomes, but life has been hectic lately,
but at least healthy.
A little info about me. I have had dm 45 yrs, just turned 50, pumping 20
yrs this next month. I have some complications. Legally blind and also
severely hearing impaired. The hearing loss is hereditary, not dm. I have a
certified hearing dog. Her name is Glory and goes everywhere with me.
Hope; we (the list) can fill your needs.
