The worst part
of starting the pump is that you have to almost take everything
you know about diabetes to be true and re-learn it. Vicky you R doing
great and really making progress.
I read the digest this morning and saw all the support for you
and I noticed you seem to be feeling a little better and not quite so
upset. That’s so important.
With my vast knowledge of the pump now moving into three
weeks, it seems to me that you may be over treating both highs and
lows. Our CDE told us not to do too many corrections at first since
we just needed to collect data so we could make informed choices . I
would consider waiting on those less than perfect #’s only a few
hours post meal. Just let it stay , say in the 200-300’s and see how
your body works with the pump and then correct at the next meal time.
Also, we are *still* doing the 3:00am check on our daughter. It’s
like having a newborn again.Of course with out diapers , crying and
bottle feeding.Oh I miss my little babies.I loved those days, at
least I think I did. Maybe it was sleep deprevation?
Enough of my private walk down memory lane…
Take Care,
Doreen
