Arthritis

Hi, everyone,

I am just curious. I have been type I since I was 12, in 1968. Now I
am 45. I have had three healthy babies, and generally haven’t had
complications (i.e., my retinas are just about perfect) My docs are
at Northwestern Memorial in Chicago. Life is good. I love my
endocrinologist - he is knowledgeable, and never treats me like an
idiot. When he tells me that I know how to adjust my insulin better
that he does, I feel he is treating me as a partner, not a problem! He
has always been responsive to my requests, and even makes very dry
jokes about clinical stuff that lets me know he doesn’t take himself
too seriously! So that’s how the first 32 years of diabetes went for
me.

Last December, I went to bed one night, and I was fine. I wish I had

David, you’ve probably already thought of this, but I’m curious what
would happen if your MM507 "broke" after the warranty expired. Would
Medicare decide, "okay, he no longer has a pump" and pay for it then?

Laurie, who can imagine a pump breaking and then miraculously recovering
without Medicare’s knowledge for as long as it took to get the new one <g>
