Midwest sightseeing

>How was your trip? Did you get to do much sightseeing? Where all did you
>get to go?

Connie, it was wonderful! We flew into Columbus and drove north through
Amish country and this 1800s village to Cleveland for the Rock & Roll
Museum and Great Lakes Science Center (to keep our 15-year-old son happy
<g>).

Then we went down through cornfields to the Serpent Mound, then to all my
husband’s childhood-memory spots in Cincinnati (where he said nothing has
changed in 30 years!), the museums and Newport Aquarium and almost to
Lexington (marveling at all the small towns and cemeteries, which we just
don’t see in Phoenix), and finally met tons of distant relatives at the
reunion in northern Kentucky.

As a lifelong Arizonan, I see why everybody who came here from the
Midwest is so nostalgic about it. What gorgeous country! And the people
are so friendly… We’re already planning to go back in a few years,
when our son can stay home and not be bored by "Dad’s sentimental
journeys."

We’ll have to swing through Indiana next time!

Laurie
