starting pump & carb-counting
This might be just me, but both processes took a lot of concentration
and learning — I tackled each one separately. (My CDE said I had to
learn carb-counting before pumping, so it wasn’t even a question of
whether to try them simultaneously or not.)
But if you’re the kind of person who (like me) gets frustrated with
yourself for the slightest mistake, it might be worth learning the two
things one at a time. By the time I started pumping, I felt like I had
mastered carb-counting…so there was one less thing to concentrate on
while learning the new skill.
For what that’s worth!

In my opinion (which is worth exactly what you’re paying for it!) every
(well, ok, most) diabetics should be carb counting whether using a pump or
not.

Okay, okay. Now try to convince my endo of that - who is a pioneer in Rx-ing
pumps!

Agreed!
Carb counting is the ONLY way to deal with diabetes; all other methods are
doomed to some failure. Even carb counting can fail, but at least you know
why you failed.
