Dual Wave Bolus

Hi All

I tried using the dual wave bolus option yesterday, for the first
time. I must have blown it - my BG was 250 after 2hrs, of couse that
could have been from the wonderful Mothers Day Brunch.I did not know
how long to set the duration for so I set it for 1 hour 30 mins with
a now bolus of 1.1 and square of 2.5 (this bolus might have been to
low with all that I eat). How do you determine this and how do you
did determine your square? Thanks for your input.

I wonder that too. I have gastropheresis and have tried the dual and square
wave and my BGs never like it. Chrissy

I have a rule of thumb that seems to work most of the time; for a heavy
carb (long lasting type, e.g., pasta), I split the bolus and sq. wave
equally. As am example, 100 gm carb would be 12 units insulin for
me; so I take 6 bolus and 6 sq. wave, with the time set for 4 hours
(this is entirely an empirical guess), and this usually works for me.
Experiment and verify results is the only way. Everyone will be
    different in this department.
