Resource books?

Hi everyone,
Hubby would like to know what books you’ve found the most useful for
pumping. I told him I know "Pumping Insulin" by John Walsh is a good
one, but what’s a really good one for finding carb amounts, small
enought to carry with you, and the best place to buy it?
He’s getting some sense of freedom, has even decreased what he eats
for breakfast with a then appropriate bolus decrease (he was never a
breakfast eater until dx, and even years later you could see him
choking down the ol’ breakfast just because he had to cover the
insulin).
He still needs a "consultation" with me to figure out if he’s got a
decent bolus amount @ meals/snack coverage, and some help with
getting the tape in place after inserting new insertion set, but
overall is starting to like being on the pump. He had a rocky first
few days, but not anymore.

Hubby’s got a great CDE, and I think that’s helped tremendously, plus
knowing all of you are there for him when he needs you (inside joke:
he just tells me, his "secretary," what question he has such as this
one, and it gets typed and sent for him) so once again, a million
thanks to all of you!!
Is anyone located near Wilmington, NC?

    Hello,

I carry a book with me called "The Docotor’s pocket Calorie Fat and
Carbohydrate counter. It is small and easy to carry with you. It also has
information in it regarding several fast food chains and restaurant
information in it. I have food this to be very helpful espcially when there
are no food labels to read. I spoke with my dietician about this and showed
her the book, she felt that this was a good book to carry with me. Good
    luck! Chera

I said for years that if I didn’t HAVE to eat breakfast, I wouldn’t. Thanks to
the ‘net, I learned I don’t have to. Even after almost 15 years of pumping I
was still *forced* to eat breakfast. Since learning more about pumping and how
it’s changed, I skip every once in awhile. :)
