I tried a new site…
Yes, it is me again….the "bittocks" poster Ü
Well, I tried an insertion into the upper derriere and thought all was well,
but it did not work.
I had BG go up to 400 in like half an hour!! I took it out and could not
see any crimping etc, so I am unsure as to what happened…any ideas?
Maybe my "bittocks" was a little too padded????

> I had BG go up to 400 in like half an hour!!
that sounds to me that it could be from something else and not the bad site
since it was only a half hour later. it usually takes a little longer than
that to see a change in your sugars after a site change, but then again,
everyone is different. anything else you can attribute it to?
good luck :O)

Arianna,
Hope this helps your "bittocks situation" First, do you have the sof-serter,
the gun type thing that automaticly inserts the soft sets? I can’t do the
contorting needed without that gadgett. Second, the obsortion in this area
is supposed to be slower than other areas, because of the "fat factor" so
maybe a larger pool bolus, that 1st bolus with a new infusion set.
When I use the hip, I am usually insulin sensative for a coulple of hours,
then it levels out to be more like the stomach. I am also adquately padded,
and I also use these muscles in my work and home(keeping up with a two year
old) life, I think makes my weird sensative situation. Good luck when you
give it another go, let me know.
bye for now, Melissa

I have no clue since I have never been brave enough to try anyplace other
than my stomache. I’m sure someone on here will have an idea. I just have
to say you are soooo funny. You make me smile. I love your sence of humour.
Oh and happy Mothers day to any of you who are Moms. Chrissy

Thank you Chrissy. I have found humor to be a way to deal with Diabetes and
life in general.
Alot of serious things have happened to me and even though I could let them
make me a mean old miser, I am opting for going by way of the funny farm Ü
Care to join me ? Ü
I am blessed to be a mother of two so far. One born from my womb, the other
from my heart.
I also wish any Moms out there a Happy Mother’s Day! There is no greater joy
for me in this world than being a Mom.
Smiles~

Hi Arianna: what set are u using???
Try the Rapids 6mm or 8 mm…..just make sure you can "pinch an inch" for
fatty tissue to insure adequate absorption…Joan:))

I use the Softserter with Softset Ultimate CQ infusion sets. I have a MM
507C. Time to change sites here soon, so I am going to try the area again
and "pinch an inch".
Thanks Joan : > )
