insulin inflation?

Has anybody noticed such a thing as "insulin inflation?" I increased
basals by .01 the past few weeks because of heavy stress (work
deadlines) and everything was fine with nice normal bgs. Now the stress
is gone but my bgs are STILL normal with the increased basal — which
makes me think if I reduce it, the sugars will go high.

Could be it’s just a cold or something keeping my basal need higher, but
I’m starting to wonder if my body would keep accepting higher and higher
basals the longer I kept raising them.

Has anyone seen that happen?

I’ve noticed a seasonal effect - seems I need a bit less in spring.
Also, you may think the stress is over but your body may stay in that
"mode" a bit longer - kind of a lag effect.

John and Marj, I never even THOUGHT about the effects of stress lasting
after the deadline-crunch ended…but that makes such good, basic sense,
it’s gotta be the right explanation. Thanks!

Hi Laurie: I’ve experienced it too…however, take a look at your dietary
intake….it’s very easy to "take a little extra" and not realize the
    increase in carbs…Joan:)))
