Hi everyone….?? regarding exercise

Monday, February 13th, 2006

Hi…I’m pretty much a lurker, although I get some fabulous
information here!

I just ordered Compass software from Roche that is the data-
management tool for the Complete and the Advantage. I will be
receiving a cable that works with both of them. The software will
download the information from the monitors (including events, etc)
and allow me to edit it (put in other values, etc.) as well as add
information on how I am feeling, and other details re: my life. It
also creates several charts. It also allows you to change the event
codes that you are using on the Complete. I can hardly wait to get
it…although it will require more work, it will make it easier to
see what is going on and figure out the pattern of highs/lows that
I’m still struggling with.

caffeine-free stuff

Funny story:

I requested caffeine-free iced tea in a restaurant. The waitress said they
didn’t have it. I asked if they had caffeine-free hot tea? Yes. I said, "If
you have caffeine-free hot tea, you can make c.f. iced tea." She brought me a
glass of ice water and a tea bag! I said, "This won’t work. Forget it."

Hubby’s doing great!

Thursday, February 9th, 2006

Jeana, Jan, David, and all,
Hubby’s really getting into it! We’ve been (well, he’s been
setting, and I’ve been giving the amounts) doing boluses, temp
boluses, suspending, and ending suspend. He’s getting the hang of
doing "Sel" and "Act" especially after he’s inputted ins amts for a
program.
Jan and Jeana, I printed out your messages from yesterday last
night, and left them on the table. He read them this am before I was
up, and I think they gave him a "light at the end of the tunnel!!"
Hubby says, "Thank you!!!!" You all are the greatest (think I’ve
said that before)!!

disetronic upgrade

Thursday, February 2nd, 2006

I have not been posting much but I now have some very good news. I have finally
found a doctor that is informed and pro active. I was sent to the diabetic
education center two days ago and the nurse there suggested I might want to
upgrade to the new disetronic as it has delayed boluses (I am not sure how to
say this) for high fat meals. It has some other features that look good.

Does anyone know about this pump? How would I upgrade?

I have to go and have an echo cardiagram with doppler, does anyone know what
this test is? It is for a heart murmur and I am having irregular heatbeats and
some mild chest pain. What should I expect for this test?
