<description>Thanks Suzanna! My insurance company provides a meter of my choice -- a
choice of TWO styles from ONE company! I don't like the way insurance
companies are contracting with meter companies to provide only one brand of
meter/strips to the insured. Before I decided to switch back to AccuChek I
talked with someone from the insurance company about coverage for the Comfort
Curve strips. Fortunately they will pay the majority of the cost. I will
just have to pay the $25 &#34;non-formulary&#34; co-pay instead of the regular $10
co-pay. I figure it is still a good deal for the $150+ worth of strips in
order to use something I like better.

I would have no problem trading in a meter. Between my hubby and me (he's a
Type 2), there are several laying around here that are no longer used. I
would like to keep the Precision Xtra (current meter) for a little while
though until I use up the ketone strips. Trading in an Advantage wouldn't be
a problem since we have 3 for some reason.

		<description>Connie,

Did you ask Roche about trading in the meter you don't like and what
kind of break they could give you? I wouldn't recommend trading in
the Advantage, but that is an option as well.

Also with insurance...since they won't cover this particular meter if
you find a special promo at a pharmacy, DON'T FILE IT WITH
INSURANCE...the pharmacy can do any transaction as a private pay. As
long as you aren't planning on filing a claim on it any insurance
regulations won't apply. Besides it will still apply toward tax
deductions IF you have enough to itemize. You do want to find out if
they will cover the strips at all, since they designate a particular
meter. Also ask them if a doctor's &#34;recommendation&#34; for the Complete
would make any difference in coverage issues. Sometimes it does,
&lt;!--more--&gt;
often it doesn't. Depends on the insurance company/policy.

The Complete is wonderful for tracking almost everything. I do more
tracking now than I've done in years...but I'm still not consistent.
A lot of people just don't want to take the time to enter everything,
but if you've been a faithful logger it would be easier. I would
recommend that you look into the software, because it will give you
so much more access to the information and tracking, but of course
that is another financial issue. I have no idea if insurance would
cover it, I didn't even try that. I decided that NOW was the time to
take back my life, and that the software would help me do that so I
ordered it.

<description>&#62; I wonder if these promotions work with insurance

I think it depends on the wording of the promo. Some will accept, some won't.

<description>I wonder if these promotions work with insurance? I talked to the insurance
company last week about switching brands of strips. I really don't like the
meter they provided and, of course, the strips for that meter are what's
covered for the $10 co-pay. I switched back to my AccuChek Advantage a couple
days ago when I ran out of strips for the &#34;other&#34; meter.

<description>Watch the pharmacies' ads. This week Kroger has an Accu-Chek Advantage free
with purchase of 100 Comfort Curves. I've seen other ads for the Complete.
That's all I have to say about that. (~_*)
