<description>I'm seeing Dr. Hanna on April 24. He sees more patients than other endos in
Toronto, and is
known to be pump friendly.

Things are on their way. Thanks to those of you who wrote.

soon...

<description>Hi Audra, LTNS, have you tried Dr. Hanna @ Wellseley?. He's a pro pump
Endo.
I'm a T-2 been pumping for 2 years. Last week I was able to go off the pump
and by April 10 expect to be off insulin all together.

		<description>Audra,
Your problem makes me a bit ill. The best solution, if you can afford it, is
to go it alone, find help from an independent CDE, and Minimed, and go for it.
Waiting is only hurting you, and helping the idiots who run the system.

<description>Hi Audra: no sense in not going for it!!!! Invest in pumping insulin by John
Walsh-----3rd ed. It will get you on your way. Minimed can also send a
pump trainer to you, if there isn't one who is readily available.....and
we're alll here!!!! Joan:))))</description>

<description>The medical profession is a mess...

I haven't written in a long time, but have read your messages with
interest. I'm getting a minimed
as soon as I can. HOWEVER, it turns out my endo only has 4
patientson insulin pumps. I got the
names of 6 endos in Toronto who are &#34;pump friendly&#34;, most are
onholidays, the one whose
receptionist answered can't give appointments until... September!!I
almost died.

I am continuing to persevere. Minimed is sending my present endo the
papers to sign for the
insurance company (estimated time: 3 weeks turnaround) I have a call
in to my old, old endo to
&lt;!--more--&gt;
see if he thinks I should wait to get the appointment with the pump
friendly doctor, or go ahead.

Oh, well, after 42 years, I guess I can be patient.

		<description>&#62;&#34;There's no way to achieve perfect control. You're fine.&#34;
&#62;Its nice to have a dr admit that.

I can't figure this guy out. The first six months I had him (during
which I started pumping), he gave the impression that he knew
EVERYthing and that we poor diabetic peasants didn't know squat. Then
suddenly he did this big turnaround -- when I took in the results of my
72-hour scanner (whatever that thing was called), he shook my hand and
said &#34;great job,&#34; and ever since then he's acted like I'm his colleague
rather than his poor stupid patient.

The truth is probably about 2/3 of the way in between...but I'm betting
somebody griped about his attitude, and he decided to make a major
change!
