Chrissy, I assume it's for protection. I very seldom use mine, though, simply
because with my RA in my hands I just find it easier to bolus without having
to work around the case (either taking it out or trying to push the buttons
through the little window).

Chrissy, I've never used the case and couldn't even say where it IS --
although I know they must've given me one when I started (the 508 last
June). I just clip the pump directly onto my bra or nightgown, so if I
ever find the case I'll offer it to anyone who wants a spare!

<< How many people have snapped those belt clips? I broke 2 so
far.
>>

So far my clip is OK. Does MM replace them for free? Chrissy

I don't like the looks of the MM case, and for 17 years have used diff.
colored zipper-type cigarette cases that I put a key ring through the pull,
then another key ring through the first one as a belt loop. This swings freely
at my side. I place a 1/3 sheet of used fabric softener in each bag to reduce
static electricity. I haven't had a problem with S.E. since a MM tech told me
to do that years ago. My bags can be seen on my picture trail site.

I use my white leather case most of the time. I take it out of the case and
take off the clip when I use the bra pouch.--Jeana

<< I still use the case with the 507, but this is just habit, I suspect.

>>

Thanks David. Since I am a relativley new pump user (around 1 yr) thats good
to know. Chrissy

The Minimed pump used to wear excessively without the case, and they recommend
its use to prevent this. However, I understand that the newer models (starting
with the 507) had an improved design that did not wear from friction with
whatever was around.

I still use the case with the 507, but this is just habit, I suspect.
