I got it & question
Hi all…
Yes I got the message, and converted over rather quickly (only took 2
tries!)
I actually have a couple of questions…
1) I’m looking for a software program that will help me track my
multiple problems, and allow me to track and start patterning the
interactions etc…(I have autonomic cardiac neuropathy, am getting
ready to start an exercise program in response, so need to track bg,
bp, dizziness, headache, tingling, stomach upset, meds, etc., etc.,
etc) This is a huge project for me. I currently use a MM508, and an
Accu-Chek Complete. I am terrible about remembering to write things
down, and often forget my meds that need to be taken during the day
(AM and pre-bed are fine)…I am slowly researching some sites on-
line, but thought I’d see if any of you had experiences or advice to
share.
2) Does anyone have any good/recent information or sites that deal
with islet cell or pancreas transplants? It has been recommended
that I look into the possibility. I will discuss this with my dr.
when I see him in 3 weeks, but want to do some research on my own.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Suzanna:
self-management —- www.diabeteswell.com……Dr. Joe has set up the first
patient self-management web site….it should fit your needs….if you need
fine-tuning, write to him and his CDEs directly…..they’ll answer and all
are GREAT!!!
the research on islet cell transplants is on-going….go to cdc.gov and then
to the NIH or niddk links for further research. They’ve done 3 patients up
in Canada that I know has been published….you probably heard some of the
stuff coming out of that small study…..
have to remember that yo

have to remember that you would have to be on anti-rejection drugs which are
pretty potent and require a great deal of dedication……Joan :)))

Ya Joan, I agree, Diabetes Well has gotten me to the point where I’m just
about ready to go OFF insulin. They are really great to work with. Maybe
I’m one of them Canadians. LOL

For those who aren’t aware, Footprints is a Type 2 DMer. That makes a
difference. Type 1s, Do NOT try going off insulin!
