> about ready to go OFF insulin. fp

For those who aren't aware, Footprints is a Type 2 DMer. That makes a
difference. Type 1s, Do NOT try going off insulin!

Hi Suzanna:
self-management ---- www.diabeteswell.com......Dr. Joe has set up the first
patient self-management web site....it should fit your needs....if you need
fine-tuning, write to him and his CDEs directly.....they'll answer and all
are GREAT!!!
the research on islet cell transplants is on-going....go to cdc.gov and then
to the NIH or niddk links for further research. They've done 3 patients up
in Canada that I know has been published....you probably heard some of the
stuff coming out of that small study.....
have to remember that you would have to be on anti-rejection drugs which are
pretty potent and require a great deal of dedication......Joan :)))
