Started on the pump this morning!

Friday, July 8th, 2005

Got my pump yesterday and was in to see the doctor
this morning. When I got home yesterday there was a
message to come in at 8:00am and bring my pump. Just
got back and I am hooked up. All we are doing right
now is using 4 different basal rates. 0.5 from 12:00
am until 4:30am; 1 unit from 5:00 am until 12:00pm and
then 0.5 units from 12:30 until 5:00pm and then 1 unit
from 5:30 until midnight. Now I have to check before
breakfast, after, before lunch/after before
dinner/after. I am to bolus according to my sliding
scale because my bg’s are still high (which is
expected dr. said)

I did my first bolus according to my sliding scale. I
have to tell you something funny though. I have been

Replacement MiniMed Pump

Wednesday, July 6th, 2005

Jamie,

I just called the MiniMed support number about an extremely minor
problem with my pump. See, one of the pins on the hinge to the
reservoir door is missing or broken. Six of the seven connection
points on the hinge are in tact, so it isn’t a major problem. I just
wanted to document it in case it became a bigger problem. The
customer service person with whom I spoke insisted that they send me
a brand new pump to arrive tomorrow. I suggested that I keep this one
and replace it only if the problem got worse. That was simply not an
option in his mind. It sure is nice to see MiniMed stand
unconditionally behind their product.

Any digest #

Monday, July 4th, 2005

I wonder if it would be possible to put a related subject title when writing
to the list instead of using a digest # since we don’t all get the digest
and have no idea what was in it. Changing the title to a related subject is
rather easy. If a post accidentally arrives with a digest #, it is easy for
the responder to change it also.

Sorry if I am asking for too much. It makes it much easier to search the
archives with a subject. (~_^)
