Planter’s Warts
I saw my endocrinologist today and he confirmed my
suspicion that I have a small planter’s wart starting
on one foot.
He said to keep an eye on it, but they often just go
away on their own.
I thought they just grew larger and deeper and
spread more warts on the foot.
Does anybody know if they sometimes just go away?
What is the preferred treatment for a 43 year old
man with a 23 year history of insulin dependant
diabetes? When I was a teen I had some burned out and
some frozen out. My nephew with diabetes had some
filed off - my sister thought he was going to lose his
foot.
Also how does one prevent a recurrence?
Thanks.

That is why all diabetics need a good podiatrist. Remember, each doc
specializes. If one doesn’t know - they slough us off. Don’t risk
amputation. Be sure to see a podiatrist who is very familiar with DM.

Phil,
I had a planters wart a few years ago, I had been diabetic 30 plus years.
They sent me to a dermatologist. They would not do anything due to my DM.
Had me soak my foot in water with sea salt. It did eventually go away, but
was quite painful before it left.

My podiatrist is the one that sent me to a dermatologist, hoping he could
help me.
