Then I don't understand what is wrong with it. What model do you have? My
present one is a 507C (3/99). I'm thrilled with it. There is now a 508 out
and a 511 is already in the works. I'd rather have a cure with NO
immunosupressents (sp).

BTW, this is Gail's 4th pump - after 19 years.

The pump was new when I got it. I got it from MiniMed directly and
insurance paid for 80%.

But how old is your pump i.e. we have a van for less than a year, but it is
4 years old. Did you get a used one? If you have had it for less than a
year, how did you get it in the first place? Most people don't get them
until insurance approves through the doctor's Rx -- sort of like having
surgery. It sometimes takes a few months to work that out. I'm puzzled now.
Did you pay for yours yourself, or how did you get it not knowing
who/what/how it is paid for?

I have had many, many insurance companies over the past almost 50 years of
IDDM and renewals of medical equipment are covered - even if it is *fought*
over at first. It took 6 weeks of deliberation for me to get my first pump -
I was their first client to request one. They agreed to pay for it and it
<!--more-->
only - NO batteries, syringes, infusion sets, etc. By the time my supplies
that came with it ran out, the employer changed companies and just turned in
the Rx's and that has been handled ever since. Until NOW - with another HMO
