long messages
I may be the only person who’s having this problem on digest, but all
the messages posted during the past couple days have shown not only the
new post, but all the OTHER posts that preceded it. Can anybody tell me
how to turn off that function? Thanks!

As I understand it, this is controlled by the preferences set by the sender
in the mail system. Internet Explorer (IE) has an option to automatically
add the received message to the new message; thus, the recipient cannot
prevent it from coming in. Netscape Mail works about the same, but may be
slightly different. Eudora I think also does a similar thing. Also, you
can control whether the copied mail precedes the new message or follows it.
I set mine to follow, so that the person receiving the new message doesn’t
have to scroll through the old stuff to get to the new one….
Maybe others can add to this, or correct my perception…

I delete what isn’t necessary BUT DO leave on something pertinent to my
reply which some are apt to leave off not giving a clue as to what they are
responding to.
