how the setup works, this explains it, although it was different when I

<< At times I get some highs, especially when eating pizza and it seems
to
take some time to get back in the normal range. I’ve heard that using
the
humulog would bring the sugars down more quickly. Is this so >>
My Doctor, Dietition, and CDE have told me that Pizza packs a triple whammy
that no other food has.
1. You get a high from the sugars that are in the sauce and crust almost
instantaneously after eating them. Humulog can bring that down with the
initial bolus.
2. You start to break down the carbs and get another surge about an hour
later… a square wave bolus will help with that.

Joan,
BUT I wanted to save a buck and use my ceramic mug - guess it wasn’t that
much of a savings. 8^(

The American Diabetes Association has an update on the
availability of animal source insulins. Check out
It discusses why it was done and options available to people
who have diabetes.
Dr. Joe, the Diabetes Doctor
Two elderly couples were enjoying friendly conversation when
one of the men asked the other, "Fred, how was the memory clinic
you went to last month?"
"Outstanding," Fred replied. "They taught us all the latest
psychological techniques: visualization, association, etc.
It was great."
And what was the name of the clinic?"
He thought and thought, but couldn’t remember.
Then a smile broke across his face and he asked, "What do you call
that flower with the long stem and thorns?"
"You mean a rose?"

Joan,
My lab test showed no lead in my system from that ceramic mug. Very
confusing because I SURE had a major problem and went to the ER!!! It’s
typical, though - nothing wrong but I get major symptoms of *something.*

Thanks, insulin pump users! I saw my nephrologist today and my current A1c
was 6.1!!!!! It has *never* (that I know of) been lower than 7.2 after
pumping 16.5+ years! I have learned a lot from internet cyberpals who pump
and thanks to you’ns/y’all/you guys, I have a better handle on it. Wish I
had this opportunity 49.5 years ago!!!

<< well the insurance company just out right denied me for upgrades or
repairs
on the pump so I am now going over the head of the insurance company and
now talking with the company that they are contracted with..
>>
Hang in there… I had a lot of trouble just getting the pump… but once the
things get there, things are better.
