Jan’s update

Tuesday, January 6th, 2004

Well, things are happening on the kidney/pancreas transplant road. I see the
toothologist at 1:30 Wed., a heartologist on the 11th. I’ve already seen the
femaleologist in October and that counts, so does the myocardial perfusion
imaging I had done 9/21/99.
I’m not going to take time to get scared. Just roll with the punches as
I have done most of the past 49+ years.

jdf funding

Tuesday, January 6th, 2004

This e-mail is intended to bring to your attention a quick and easy
Web-based fundraising opportunity for JDF.

AmericanGreetings.com, a subsidiary of American Greetings, the national
greeting card company, has selected JDF as one of ten charities
eligible to receive a donation through their Valentine’s Day promotion
called
"Smooch For A Cure." The program will run from February 1st through
February 14th. Visitors to a special page on the AmericanGreetings.com
site will see pictures of ten celebrities from music, sports,
television, modeling and media, each paired with their favorite charity.
Proudly representing JDF is Leeza Gibbons, popular talk show host and
national co-chair of the JDF Walk To Cure Diabetes.

When you visit the site you can, for free, send Leeza a "CyberSmooch"

Jan’s neph app’t

Monday, January 5th, 2004

I had my neph appointment today and he said my labs were pretty stable from
October. I was disappointed my HbA1c was 7.0 but he thought it was great. He
is going to get the paperwork started to get me tested for listing at a
transplant center in Indianapolis for a kidney/pancreas. Talk about new
things to adjust to. Scary.
