The answer is yes things are better check out the minimed site and the
disetronic site and ask for their videos and info packs i am sure you will be
delighted.
the needles come either as a real needle very small to slightly bigger to the
kind that the needle comes out and a plastic canula stays in for three days
and you can't feel either type once in we find My daughter is 10yrs old that
the canula type are a little painful putting in but has a rapid disconnect
feature that some people like she prefers the tiny needle kind and says it
doesn't hurt at all and stings a little with the first bolus of insulin but
doesn't bother her after that. and the pumps have changed they are smaller
and lighter and hold 315 units of insulin at a time.
she loves hers and doesn't ever want to go back on the shots

I'm sure they have Laurie but we have some people that are a lot better
qualified to answer that question them me. I have been using it for 4 years
and have had great success with it myself. The pump is the size of a pager
now and I'm sure the are a lot more choices in Infusion sets now. But I have
to throw it in the lap of some of the long time pump users in our group.
Good Luck Laurie.
