<< Hi Julia:
might also try Smith & Nephew Barrier skin prep, rather than alcohol or an
IV
prep...it's a bit stickier and thicker and works well for me..you can call
your supplier and ask them to send you some samples...Joan:) >>

I was given those when i first got my pump I am allergic to those so i quit
using them. But thanks for the suggestion anyways :)
Do well and doubt not
Julia

" 'Allo."
"Did you say hello?"
"No I said 'allo , but thats close enough."

<< I guess you are using the soft set QR? Did you try putting the IV 300 tape
on first then insert the set through the tape? If that does not work you
should speak to someone on your diabetic team and or a dermatologist or
consider switching to a different set. I'm sure other members may have some
good ideas, please chime in :).
>>
No i never thought of putting the tape on first. Thanks I'll try that next
time i change the site.

Hi Julia: had the same problem...might try switching to a different infusion
set..I've been using the Rapids in different lengths, and the Soft-sets. You
might try a barrier skin prep like Smith & Nephew Barrier Skin Prep - it
makes the site a bit "thicker and stickier", and if you are only happy with
one infusion set, put the dressing on first and then insert through that so
you aren't in direct contact with the adhesive...then too, you might have a
metal sensitivity as well so trying different sets to see which ones work for
you is an idea....Joan :)

Julia - as Frank says, it may be useful to lay a piece of IV3000 directly
onto the skin, and then insert the SofSet straight through the IV3000. That
way nothing on the SofSet comes into direct contact with your skin. I've
had similar problems to you - but I found it varies over time: sometimes I
was allergic, sometimes I wasn't.

Have you tried other infusion sets? I've found for me that the Silhouettes
or Tenders give me the least problems.

Hope that helps :-)

John
