MiniMed 507c

Monday, June 30th, 2003

I had to get a loaner and return the MiniMed 507c the other day that I got last
March. Several times when I would press ACT it would immediately go back to the
*home* screen. It took 6 tries to get a bolus once. Anybody else have a problem?

ketchup

Saturday, June 28th, 2003

This may be a weird post, but it is hard to explain to people how one feels
with a high blood sugar. I like object lessons. A Diabetes Educator gave me the
following *recipe*. I keep it made up and in the fridge for object lessons for
speeches and anyone else who is curious. I think it explains a lot.

1/2 C Catsup & 1/2 C water = 100 BG
1/2 C Catsup & 1/3 C water = 200 BG
1/2 C Catsup & 1/4 C water = 300 BG
1/2 C Catsup = 400 BG

Store them in double zipper-type plastic bags. Feel the differences in the
consistencies. Everywhere in the body is where the blood is. No wonder one feels
so awful with that thick blood trying to get to the toes and elsewhere. I use
Heinz Ketchup.

Is Anyone Interested:

Wednesday, June 25th, 2003

Friends:

I am aware that this is a little bit unusual and might be
considered a violation of list etiquette by some, so, please allow me to
preface this request by indicating that this is not my intention.
I wish to determine if anyone would be interested in
participating in another list, for people that:

1. Live within the state of Florida,
2. Would be interested in contributing information to more
than one list,
3. Are interested in helping others work their problems thru

As yet, the list has neither a home nor a name, and until I am certain
that people are willing to join yet another list, I will not do that.

vote for funding for JDF

Tuesday, June 24th, 2003

Please vote (as many times as you can sit & click *submit*) for JDF and
forward this e-mail with URL to your
friends and contacts. Please note voting ends November 30th. Thank you and
wish us luck!

AccentHealth will donate a total of $100,000 to five national juvenile
charities. All you have to do is visit and vote. The charity that receives
the most votes will receive a $50,000 donation from AccentHealth; the
charity with second highest number of votes will receive $20,000; and each
of the remaining three charities will receive $10,000.

I just cast my daily 15 ballots. We may be able to turn the vote in favor of
JDF winning the BIG $$$ from this list.
Thanks, Gang
