Question about Carbohydrate Count
Friends,
I saw my " new " doctor, Dr. Sam Lerman yesterday. He did a very
thorough initial exam, reviewed my lab values, downloader my meter
results, and we then spoke for quite a while.
Also, the nurse that works with Dr. Lerman, did my vitals,
introduced herself, and explained how their office procedures work.
My initial observations are: " So, this is how a "_real_" office
operates. He made a very good impression, and I consider myself to be a
critical person.
Things he challanged immediately, which had not been noticed by my
previous doctor included a "_clinically_" sub-normal TSH value, which was
really low, but had never been noticed previously.
He had indicated that he will get thing moving foreward on
obtaining an Insulin Pump for me, something my previous endochrinologist
never attempted to accomplish, made several rather dramatic changes in my
daily medication regiments (insulin coverage and synthroid dosage) and has
requesed that I learn how to count carbohydrates.
I am asking the group for suggestions, recommendations and advise
on what the good materials and sites are to learn how and why we Count
Carbohydrates.
Things like book titles, web sites, and on-line resources are what
I’m interested in here.
TIA,
Arnold

comprehensive and written so it is easy to understand. You can get it from
