I have the exact same situation monthly, although I think I
get more like 4 days of highs. I find that if I stay away from
high-fat foods (I know, I should be staying away anyway!)
and make sure to get plenty of exercise, I usually can keep
from the really high numbers. As for the lows when you start,
I haven’t found any really good solutions other than testing
more frequently and being conservative about covering
carbs when bolusing.
