escrow at MiniMed -Reply

Hi Jan!
I had a bad experience in dealing with MiniMed regarding
credit to my VISA when they charged me twice for one order.
I had ordered supplies using the customer # they had used
on my previous shipment of supplies also providing name
and address information at that time. Unbeknownst to me,
the # that had been assigned on that previous shipment was
assigned to the insurance carrier’s agent. They claimed to
have sent everything to the address of the agent although I
had not been contacted by them. When I received my credit
card statement with the 2 charges (I had to pay MORE for
the same items than the agent did!), I called and they
assured me I would be credited. I more or less forgot about
it until I was checking my statements regarding another
matter and saw that no credit had ever been made over the

3 months that had passed. I called again and was assured
AGAIN that it would be processed immediately. Next
statement, you guessed it–no credit! I called again and
demanded to talk to a supervisor and told them that I
wanted immediate credit and proof that it had been
processed. The supervisor was very apologetic and
promised that the credit would be processed that day. I
called and checked with the credit card company a couple
of days later and it finally had been credited, 6 months after
the initial order was placed. I love my pump, and have had
good luck with the support personnel, but I have no
confidence in the accessory order department or
accounting department. From your experience, I would
guess that any financial transaction with MiniMed requires
continuous monitoring on the customer’s part!
