New Insulin Pump Company
I understand there is going to be another company manufacturing insulin pumps.
Hopefully this can help drive down the price a little of pumps and infusion sets
and help make it more affordable to everyone. I also understand that they have
some sets that are being developed, this again is positive news for Pampers, we
need more choices.

Do you have any info on this new company? Like price and stuff? Luckily I
have good insurance, but I know that others aren’t quite so lucky.

I believe it will be on the market in October or Early November(awaiting FDA
approval), I hope that it does help bring down the pricing a bit, I heard it was
introduced at the last diabetic conference in San Diego, the company making the
Pump is Animas Corp.

The word I get is there at least TWO companies planning to announce a
pump; one of them claims to have a proprietary technique for detecting
plugged infusion sets very rapidly, and not dependent on pressure
buildup to cause an alarm. They will not disclose how it works,
however.
