I cannot use the Op-site 3000 IV dressing - it just peels off with no
effort. I can only use the Op-Site #4575. The box is white, printed in black
with a couple of red bars. The measurements = 5cm (2") X 8 cm (3"). The upc
code is 0 5531004575 3. Minimed will send some samples if requested. This
is with 16 years' pump site experience.

The end of the 4575 piece itself is green. I fold it onto its green self so
I have something to grab when removing it. The 3000 has orange words on it
and is included with the Sof-sets. I just pitch them, and since I'm a penny
pincher that should tell you I don't use them.

Hi - tegaderm HP is a transparent dressing that we use for IV sites, just
like a lot of the other dressings offered by pump suppliers. The adhesive is
just less gluey so to speak. Its made by 3M Health Care -- I'm reading the
label. We use the regular Tegaderm in the hospital, and I didn't know this
type existed until about 3 weeks ago, thanks again to my supplier, they are
very nice.
Any way -- body hair...when we have a hairy patient, clipping it just a bit
can work wonders. Shaving irritates, so that's out, but just trimming can
work out ok, ok? Later :) Joan

Hi Jan:
I have a Disetronic V 100 that's the D...I've tried the Smith & Nephew MVP
3000 - that left me branded with nice rectangles, and a couple of other
samples from my pump rep...all leaving their mark.. I've been leaving a
loop of tape like I do when taping IV tubing in place...sort of a tape taped
on itself so there's some give...less tension on the skin that way and works
pretty well.
fp - thanks - I'm new to pumping too. on the 14th it'll be 8 weeks and I'm
thrilled. Only been on insulin about 6 years, before that, pills and pills.
Wasn't too happy a soul until I decided to take the plunge and find myself a
doctor that knew what they were talking about. Being a nurse, it didn't take
long to learn how to use it, it's been an adjustment, just like a new
relationship, but I'm so GLAD :) I did...later, Joan:)

Hi Joan, fp stands for Footprints.
My only problems are happening now due to the high humidity. I use my belly
as the site too and the hair prevents good adhesion. I/I've been
experimenting with a glue product called Skin Tac it seems to work fairly
well. Still trying.
Tell me more about tegaderm HP . What is it ?? Where do U get it?? Etc.
where are u located I'm in Toronto On Canada.

I'm new too, but I bet it's Fellow Pumpers.

Is the D Diabetes?

I found that Op-site 4575 by Smith+Nephew works for me. I'm sensitive to
most tapes but have used that for many years now.

Hi FP (what's that stand for???)
My only problems with the D is really nothing related to the pump but rather
to the types of cannulas I can use...found out I'm allergic to Tenders- that
was literally a brand implanted on my belly. Have a sensitivity to a lot of
different adhesives, so finding the right dressing to hold anything in place
has been an experiment. So far, tegaderm HP is proving to be pretty good.
How about you???Joan :)

Hi Cindy..

I love talking about the pump and helping others start the pump so i
called Disetronic and they allow "regular" people (nonCDE's) to
help train others on the pump so this summer they are going to
send a trainer to train me.. MM unfortunaly does not allow this. I
will still allow both pumps to be viewed and offered to everyone i
talk with.
